Lovely review sent to us via email this morning, so glad everyone enjoyed their night especially the birthday girl. First function at the New Duke. ❤ May 2026 Fantastic space for a private party! We hired the upstairs function room at the at the Duke of Cumberland for our daughters 18th birthday party/ family gathering. The decor is smart with a modern feel. (What a great job and a fantastic looking room). The room was brilliant and comfortably fit our group in nicely without feeling squashed in. A huge thank you especially to Richard and Scott, who allowed us to set up the night before, and even helped us set up (a big thank you Scott for your decorating advice and a big 6ft 7 thank you to Richard for your assistance with the higher decorating). We were blown away with your kindness. The bar staff were absolutely amazing throughout the night ensuring everything ran smoothly, this is despite been run off their feet downstairs, with so many more customers, they were literally queuing from the door to the bar for drinks, which staff were dealing with incredibly in an organised manner ( this was due to the constant flow of customers, not the bar staff, they had it all under control). Highly recommended for anyone looking to host a private gathering! Fun was had by all, we had no complaints from any of our guests, we all just had a fantastic time.
